MIS Testing can assist in all types of corrosion testing

Corrosion Testing

The performance of materials in corrosive environments is a critical aspect in their selection, and MIS Testing can assist in this by carrying out standard corrosion tests which investigate the susceptibility to pitting and to intercrystalline corrosion. Screening methods to pre-select samples for further testing are also available.

Methods include:

  • ASTM G48
  • ASTM A262 Practice E (Strauss Test)
  • ASTM A262 Practice C (Huey Test)
  • ASTM Practice A
  • Moneypenny Corrosion testing
  • Ferric Chloride Pitting

In relation to sour gas service, more complex corrosion testing can be offered, specifically:

  • Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC testing)
  • Sulphide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC testing)
